I lost 85 pounds by basically just hiding the food I wanted to avoid and had to forget about it, when you get the urge for them just think about your journey and hold back. Consider it like you’re dying to talk to your recent ex but you’re trying to get over them also. That’s not it though lol, I also got a app called “MyFitnessPal” and followed the calorie goal it gave me. Ate the same thing everyday (you have to enjoy the food or else you will gain it back) now I maintain by eating the same thing but now I eat just a protein bar more and it’s kept me here for a couple months but I’m still studying on a new diet to maintain

Chew it and spit it out? Sooooo….like "To The Bone"? Sounds like a recipe for eating disorder.

This is very disordered thinking about food… Very sad to think someone gave that as advice to children.

So true. I used to be 125kg then did a 6 month diet and reached my goal of 88kg. Once the diet "stopped" I gained it all back, and more. I weight 145kg now and I'm miserable..

As others have said, that’s not a diet, that’s an eating disorder, a behavior that has the potential to become an addiction to some people.

This is a proper eating disorder, I have struggled with it for years. Please do not spread this, without wanting to be too overdramatic it has basically ruined my life. I have not done it for almost 11 months now and can't describe how hard stopping chewing and spitting food has been. This is NOT a diet

Nothing beats counting calories for worst weight loss advice EVER! You don’t even realize your advice that you give works on the same principle. You can eat pounds of steak and not gain weight because it’s not FATTENING!

It's true; I have Crohn's disease and I constantly have to be wary of what I eat. I tell myself all the time "I can't eat this" "I can't eat that" and it really does work. After a while it becomes second nature and you don't even think about it.

I'm a cake decorator and my diabetic husband did this once when he wanted to try a cake but didnt want to eat all that sugar. As someone who has recovered from disordered eating I freaked out on him. It honestly scares me because it seemed SO disordered. I told him, either eat a teeny piece of cake, or be ok with not eating it, but no more chew and spit bologna.

Someone once gave me advice bordering anorexia. He said eat 1 meal a day everyday, use no seasoning (and some other unhealthy stuff I cannot remember). Says he lost weight that way. He showed his before photo.
I naturally just ignored that advice. Thanks for warning people about bogus advice John!

So I turned 17 last month and is 235 pounds. My goal is to try and join the military hopefully in 2 years but I struggle with motivation and I don't know the best way to start getting in shape. That includes needing to change my eating habits and the proper exercise. Could you do a video about the right steps I need to take in order to achieve my goal? That would help me SO much! Thanks!

I think one of the worse diet advice and one of the biggest sham for the 19th century is calories restriction.

So, this “diet” that the old man was talking to you about….in high school, my best friend and I decided to try it. To be honest, it worked for a while but I’m pretty confident that it contributed to my unhealthy relationship with food. I appreciate your stories, they are always a great help! Can’t wait for the next video. ☺️

That advice sounds better that the one i got from the "nutritiologist" when i was a kid, she forced me to eat avocado toast, beans and grape juice with olive oil and vinegar like it was some kind of magical potion for weeks, of course it didn't work.

those with certain eating disorders will actually do that "chew and spit" into napkins on the sly to make it look like they're eating in public settings.
